Radio modems

Do ATIM radio modems work in hostile industrial environment ?

Indeed, the ADN16 and A.R.M. radio modems are designed for working in harsh environments (cranes, conveyors, travelling cranes, various industries).

Is the antenna's position important ?

Yes, and even essential for an optimal operation: the antennas must be cleared imperatively from all metallic obstacle within an area at least of 1m of radius. It must be placed at a minimum of 2m high and at sight.

Can we use any power supply ?

Be carreful ! The power supply is very important in radio : you must make sure the recommanded tension range is respected (generally 10 to 30 Vdc). The power supply for the HF part must be precise and any variation could generate transmission loss. Avoid non-stabilized power supply which are only rectified and causes often problems.

Can we connect several modems on a network ?

Of course, as it's a transparent operation, the radio modems can be connected to a network. You can even mix on a wired RS485 network, ADN16 and A.R.M. modems. Attention: in transparent mode, the address recognition must be done  by the external system as well as the communication protocol.
The A.R.M. radio modems can also work as a Modbus slave or in securised mode.
