Refrigerators Set to 50 °C: When a Cyberattack Threatens the Cold Chain. 🌡️

Several French supermarkets were recently hit by a cyberattack targeting their refrigeration systems. According to Numerama, the attackers reportedly hijacked the defrost function, setting the temperature to 50 °C.

This incident underscores the importance of measuring actual temperature, in addition to the system that regulates cooling.

That’s the role of our ACW-TCR sensor: to measure the temperature in cold storage rooms and transmit the data remotely. A connected platform then alerts teams when a defined threshold is exceeded.

This does not replace cybersecurity, but provides additional monitoring to detect anomalies and take action.
